TRACY EDWARDS LM, CPM

I am a mother of nine children ranging in age from 20 years to 36 years old consisting of seven girls and two boys. I have been married to my husband, Bret, for 39 years. We have also joyfully welcomed 13 grandchildren and are anxiously waiting for number 14 to be born in January 2024. I have been blessed to be in attendance at all of their births! Except for 10 years in Virginia and 5 years in West Virginia, I have lived in Texas all of my life.

My interest in birth began in 1991 when my next door neighbor was planning a homebirth. We were good friends and I was asked to be the extra set of hands at her birth. Even though I already had 2 children of my own, I learned so much about pregnancy and birth from her midwife. Soon after her birth, I found out I was pregnant with our third child and chose to have a homebirth of my own with the same midwife. I became a La Leche League Leader and childbirth educator and was very active in the local Virginia homebirth community. I became a certified doula in 1997.

In 2013, I enrolled in the Association of Texas Midwifery Training Program and became a licensed midwife in the state of Texas and a Certified Professional Midwife through the North American Registry of Midwives in 2016. I have attended over 850 births and been able to work with almost 20 different midwives throughout my years as a doula, birth assistant, midwifery student and licensed midwife.
